Workshops

In 2022, FRAIM workshops ran concurrently on October 4, 5 and 6.

Each of the five workshops were designed to focus on a specific type of content such as, producing funny stories, covering news in Indigenous languages, documenting stories of Indigenous rights, multi-camera coverage of live and sequential events and producing music video clips.

Delegates were required to nominate their preferences for workshops at the time of registration.

The workshops were held at the Desert Knowledge Precinct, 475 South Stuart Highway, Alice Springs and at ICTV at 10b Wilkinson Street, Alice Springs.

Screenings

Over two nights a program of videos in-competition was held at Sunset Hill at Discovery Caravan Park on Tuesday and Wednesday night (October 4 and 5). The program is available here.

All screenings were free.

ICTV Video Awards

The ICTV Video Awards celebrate the very best of content on ICTV.  In 2022,  nine awards were judged through ICTV’s peer assessment process, with another four awards presented.  The awards were held  at the Alice Springs Cinema on October 6, 2022 and broadcast live on ICTV and can be viewed here.

Best Our Tucker Video was awarded to Kowanyama Bush Food Story from Apunipima Cape York Health Council (Sponsored by Outback Stores)

Best Young Way Video winner was awarded to Tjanimaku Tjukurpa from NPYW (Sponsored by the Department of the Chief Minister)

Best Our Culture Video award winner was Wik.Thayanam.Thawan (Strong in Language) by the Woyan-min Bio-Cultural Project (Sponsored by McNair yellowSquares)

Best News or Microdocumentary was awarded to A Day at the Roebourne Races by Ngaarda Media (sponsored by ABC).

Best Language Video was awarded to Mamu Kurtaji from PAW Media (This award was sponsored by the Research Unit for Indigenous Languages, University of Melbourne)

Most Popular Video on ICTV Play was awarded to Bush Bands Bash 2021 by Music NT. Sponsored by the Centre for Appropriate Technology.

People’s Choice Award was awarded to ‘Salty Plum’ by Desert Pea Media. (sponsored by NT Link).

ICTV Contributor of the Year Johani Mamid (and his wife Emma) from Mabu Buru Tours, Broome (sponsored by AFTRS).
